can any1 tell me how long does it take to get EAD in hand from the date it was filed./and how long does it take to get the I 485 approved under present situation?.In our case the later we get i 485 the better it is for us.Thanks:D

I am now confused, do we have to pay for the EAD renewal fee, has some thing changed ? let me know the fee for renewal.

Take a copy of your I140 approval atleast. It is just a sheet of paper when you go for stamping. Sometimes your lawyer can give you a copy of I140 filed papers. This will have information on your company's financials etc.

you may find this helpful. it provides info on I-130 and I-485 and the documents you need to file. if he is clean (no criminal background, issues with legal status etc) then you should not have any problems. Good luck and congrats on your marriage.

I always did paper filing. I have done it third time this time. Incidently, the first two times the EAD approval came in about 17 days but this time, it has already been 15 days and I have not received the receipt even. The check was withdrawn on the 13th day.

Hi All,
I am thinking of looking for other job options. I want to know if you any one of you have changed jobs on EAD and your experience with the whole issue.
1. Did you find have any issues when getting 485 approved.
2. Did you file AC21.
3. Does the job responsibility has to meet 100% word by word.
4. Has any one you applied for EAD extension on your own.
5. Has any one got an RFE after changing the Job on EAD and submitting AC21. if so what kind of questions do they ask.

I am thinking about using some agency like H&R block to get my taxes done becasue I am not familiar with the ITIN and all the other stuff related to filing Tax with H4 for the first time. Why is it that people who have filed after me have already received their notice and had checks cashed? I thought it is based on when the application is received is how they process- I am freaking out thinking that my application fell behind a desk somewhere....
I can understand your frustration, but not abuse language please. We all are going through the same trauma.
Libra has not said any thing bad and you do not have to fell bad for it or use any absue language.
We should stand united and not fight among our selves.
God bless you and your family and I would pray God that you get your checks cashed atleast before me.

A colleague of mine (not India or China) got her EAD card in mail within a month of applying. Her 485 has been pending for more than a year.
Another friend of mine from India got his approved within 60 days of applying.
Doesn't all these mean that the interim EAD (or whatever you want to call it) is still possible and we can get it?
I am confused.

We are expecting, so I do not think it is possible to change insurance. We still tried and got rejected. So that we will leave us with COBRA in case my wife chooses to quit or something happens to her job. And does H4 visa affect COBRA coverage? If you can answer this question that will be very helpful.

My 485 application was filed on July 1st, 2007. Yesterday I received an email from my lawyer indicating that they have received the receipts for 485, 765 & 131 for all the applicants in my family.
I understand that it takes 3 to 4 weeks after receiving the receipt notices to hear about the fingerprinting appointment.
1. Considering the number of AOS applications filed in July, when can I expect the fingerprinting appointment?
2. Also how will that correspondence occur: mail or telephone ? Will I hear about this directly or will my lawyer hear about it?
3. Can few of you who have received the appointment for fingerprinting after filing AOS application in May 07 - Aug 07 timeframe post some details:
a) When did you receive the AOS receipts?
b) When did you hear about the fingerprinting and how?
c) When are you expecting EAD or if you have received it, how long did it take? I am aware that it takes 90 to 120 days from the date of filing and this was answered in one of my questions posted on this forum but wanted to know these stats in the current conditions.

Document mailed for I-131 means actual Advance Parole document is mailed.For I-485 it could be RFE, based on what is written below the status. Like we have requested additional evidence etc.
